As a pianist I draw on different techniques –traditional Russian school playing, the Taubman Approach, and alignment. I attended various masterclasses which were offered by Martin Roscoe, Mary Moran, David Murray, and Sarah Beth Briggs, and studied with teachers from different backgrounds such as Carol Yu, Stephen Savage, David Murray, and Christine Croshaw. In my teaching I integrated what I gained from these approaches and styles to create a unique blend, offering a tailor-made lesson to each of my students. I was fortunate to perform Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor, and conduct Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 whilst studying at Newcastle University. My hands-on experience as an appointed pianist and composer in a script, which won the We Are From Fresh Wave in 2018, and my experience across media, traditional instrumental, and other experimental composition demonstrates to students the variety of a career in music and could inspire them in their own endeavours.

Tutoring Experience

With more than 6 years’ experience as a piano teacher and over 10 years of professional training covering the area of piano performance, conducting, composition, and chamber and orchestral performance, I understand how to create an effective environment both as a mentor and for my own progress. I helped my students developed their playing to a next level by tackling problems like performance anxiety, hand injuries, playing styles etc. They gained merit results in ABRSM exams and participated in public music events.
