I come from a strong Chemistry and Maths background with MSc in Chemistry and PhD in Chemistry. I have been teaching for 10 years now. I have a massive teaching experience with a wide spectrum of students. One of the proud moment for me as a teacher was when one of my student achieved a University position in 2014. Chemistry can appear quite intimidating to some students at first glance. So in my experience chemistry is best taught using a mixture of power-point slides, cartoon illustration of chemical reactions, 2D/3D models, video clips, showing pictures of solar system as an atom, induces more straight forward perception. Students grasp the concept better if they can picture them. I ask questions at the beginning of the lesson, during the lesson and at the end of the lesson to gauge what they learned. I believe my core strength as an educator is the ability to convey complex information with ease and having an in-depth understanding of their abilities and requirements.
