I am a Primary PGCE student currently near the end of my course at the University of Hertfordshire. I love teaching phonics and my enthusiasm is difficult not to catch! I have done a 3 month placement teaching in the Early Years, covering phases 1-4 of phonics and taught 20 minutes everyday. I am now completing my second 3 month placement in a Year 2 class, encountering and teaching phase 6 phonics. I already tutor a Year One student, to aid in the passing of their phonics screening test and am bulking up my understanding of Year One phonics, as my job next year is for this age. I am fun, friendly and extremely enthusiastic. I have always been prided on my ability to bond with children, getting to know them quickly, which I believe to be key for understanding where the children need help and where they can be stretched.
