I am a qualified Mathematics teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in four different schools in the United Kingdom. My roles during these years included responsibility as a classroom teacher, form tutor, Head of Department in South Africa. These experiences have molded me in becoming an outstanding teacher and leader. This is evident in my lesson observations both formal and informal, where my teaching has been described as consistently good and outstanding. Some of my excellent practice outlined from these observations are; my ability to use a variety of learning styles to engage all students, use of technology such as the IWB to enhance student learning, and my assessment for learning techniques which enable students to assume greater responsibility for their own learning and also provide them with the skills necessary for peer and self-assessment. On several occasions, I have had to share these practices with colleagues at teaching and learning briefings.
