I have a comprehensive knowledge of specifications for key UK examination boards and experience in working with a range of ages and abilities, to which I tailor my teaching accordingly. I inspire passion for English literature and language by encouraging my students’ individual and independent thought, both creative and analytical. ******* I am a trained actor with 9 years professional experience in theatre and film. I specialise in teaching acting, musical theatre, Shakespeare, acting for screen and drama school audition prep. I equip my students with the tools to create truthful, emotionally connected characters and encourage them to make bold choices that will help them to stand out in a highly competitive industry. I also offer experienced guidance in professional training, agencies and audition technique.

Oct 2017: I provided one-on-one acting and singing tuition for a child of nine. She went on to successfully audition for a West End Musical *** Dec 2015- Present: I worked one-to-one with a boy of seven to improve his reading, writing, spelling and comprehension skills. *** Dec 2014- Present: I helped a non-English speaking child transition into the British education system. In that time she has become well-adjusted and fluent in English. *** Jan- July 2010: I mentored a student at Southampton University in researching, writing and reworking her final year essays. She went on to receive a First Class BSc and is now studying towards a PhD. *** My style of teaching is open and friendly, creating a supportive, constructive environment for students to learn. I work with my students to set realistic, achievable tasks that complement and support their work at school. I believe every student can become comfortable and confident through encouragement, patience and praise.
