Hello, I graduated from high school in South Africa in the top 1% of the country. I went on to Cornell University, a top tier university in New York State. In school I have always been the go-to person whenever my friends had homework related problems. It became so frequent that I unofficially became the organizer of study sessions to help all those who needed it. During those late night cookies and study filled sessions, I learned that the best way to impart knowledge onto others was simple: make the explanation interesting. As an actor, I possess the skills to adapt my style to captivate my students’ attention regarding the subject. A few years ago, I started teaching my young cousins. They helped to further hone my teaching skills through patience.

I organized quasi-weekly study sessions to tutor friends after school. I went over every single point the professor had made. I gave extra attention to the ones who needed more time to understand the concept. I would only move on when they reached the point where they could explain the concept back to me. Later on, I started teaching my young cousins after school. One had a particular issue regarding concentration. Since I have experience in acting, it has enabled me to find the right angle to entertain them while using the concept. Before they realized it, they had learned the subject by having fun. By constantly finding the right examples for her (things she liked), I pushed her class rank from the bottom to the top section of the class.
