In my current role, I support all aspects of student learning, preparing and delivering taught sessions both in seminar and lecture formats. I have been involved in developing appropriate and challenging assessments that measure student performance and I also ensure that specific learning outcomes are being met. I am responsible for setting student’s work, making sound judgements about progress and provide honest, detailed and constructive feedback. I support students with learning difficulties and tailor their learning to their personal learning plan. It is important to be flexible and innovative in my approach to teaching. I try to enable students to share responsibility for their own learning and assessment, setting goals that stretch and challenge. I believe it is important to encourage students and help them appreciate that learning is not a passive process but an active one.
