I am an enthusiastic English student studying at undergraduate level at King`s College London. I have always been extremely passionate about the subject and greatly enjoy discussing literature with others. I took my English A Level one year early and got an A*. As I was recently in secondary school I am able to communicate with students in a way that they can relate to. I seek to modify each lesson to the student's needs, as I firmly believe there is no 'one size fits all' approach when it comes to learning. However, I will also ensure that he/she is fully versed in exam technique and thoroughly familiar with the relevant syllabus. Finally, I believe that the student can only gain as much from the lesson as I put in, therefore I am committed to planning and preparing each session meticulously. I have been tutoring privately for 2 years and tutored at a centre for 9 months, where I tutored Maths and English to students ranging from ages 4 to 16.

I worked at a tutor centre between 2016 – 2017. I taught classes of up to 6 children on a rotational method, teaching children of ages 4 to 16 Maths and English. I taught 5 classes. I prepared students for their GCSEs and many of my students were predicted grades 8-9. I also tutored students in the run up to their SATS. I tutor 5 students privately. 2 of my students are doing their GCSEs and both are predicted grades 8-9. One of my students was in a lower set at school for English and has now been moved up. Students respond to interactive ways of learning and I have seen success when I employ such methods. For English, my lessons are full of discussion which encourages students to think creatively and I then help them develop coherence when expressing their ideas on paper. For Maths, I take a step-by-step approach to encourage students to think logically when solving problems. I set homework to track progress, depending on how parents feel about it.
