As a teacher, I am very friendly and open and feel that I have the ability to interact dynamically as well as professionally with students. I also ensure that, when teaching, I speak clearly and confidently. Furthermore, when planning, I ensure that activities are differentiated, Language focused and at the appropriate level for an English and music class. During my CELTA training, I really found doing the Grammar and Lexis Analyses within my planning helped the flow of my lessons. My interest in a career in teaching English as a foreign language probably stems from the fact that I grew up in Kenya – this experience opened my eyes and mind to different cultures and ways of thinking.

I started my teaching experience 15 years ago in Special Needs. I did 3 years working as a special needs teaching assistant. I then trained as a teacher and qualified as a music specialist. I have spent the last 10 years working as a music teacher in the UK, Spain, Kuwait and Qatar. I wanted to add more to my teaching experiences so I took my CELTA and I am now working in a language school teaching English language fluency to mainly adults at various levels, but thank fully I still get to teach teenagers too from time to time. I also teach Guitar and Keyboard to beginners.
