Hi, I’m Katie! 23 years old and a mum of two. We enjoy visiting the zoo & swimming, as well as seeing friends & their children & going for picnics in the park. I have a passion for teaching, which ties in perfectly with helping my son to read. So far we have read The Three Little Pigs & he is making excellent progress! I think the main importance of tutoring is to communicate with the student in a way that makes learning more enjoyable & potentially easier to grasp. Also, to show the student how well they are doing. Setting goals to achieve & ticking off what’s been done at the end of each session is a visual aid for showing their progress. This works much better than just telling them ‘you’ve done this today, well done’. I am very patient as I know it’s not always easy to learn something you either have little interest in or can’t quite understand, & I have a variety of strategies for students who find grasping certain subjects difficult.
