I graduated in 2013 with a 1st Class Honours degree in Marine Environmental Science. I have a strong background in English language and literature to assist students wishing to improve not only their literary skills but also their presentation and public speaking. I have a good range of experience to draw on to help individuals who may be struggling with writing and structuring reports or essays, across a multitude of subjects. With my background in marine environmental science I am confident across a broad range of scientific disciplines; chemistry, physics, biology, geography, geology and statistical analysis. I've travelled extensively and have spent 8 years working on a house museum in the town of Yamasaki in Japan, I spend several months a year there, continuing our renovation work and inventory of exhibits.

Whilst spending time in Japan over the last 8 years, I also assist the local community by providing one-to-one tutoring to the local children in English. I work to improve confidence in speaking and conversation, improving understanding of vocabulary across a range of subjects and engaging students in subject matter that interests them to encourage positive learning. Importantly I have worked with many students who are shy and reserved in the classroom environment that have benefited enormously from one-to-one support. I have worked in Tanzania as part of a marine conservation research project where I also provided teaching assistance to the local schools as well as tutoring to adult groups who wished to improve their English skills. I am currently working towards a PhD in the field of Environmental Biogeochemistry, specifically researching the impact of antimicrobial resistance in the soil microbiome.
