Hello I am Jo Jo Lau. I just completed a MA Acting for Screen course from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama after working in the business sector, including PwC, using my knowledge acquired from my Business Administration degree (BSc BBA) which I graduated a few years ago. I am a versatile person who enjoys music- I sing and play the trumpet, which I have achieved ABRSM Level 7. What differentiates me the most from other tutors is that I adopt different teaching techniques and strategies for my tutees- tailoring the lessons to them according to the tutee's strengths and weaknesses, learning objective and time constraint. I am professional, punctual and patient. I have tutoring experience with both group and 1-to-1 classes with both children (from the age of 3) and adults.

<<<English>>> I have taught a Primary school tutee who had no motivation in learning English as it is her 2nd language and that I found out that the main reason was that she thought it was 'not fun'. So I asked her to watch a novel adapted film with subtitles on in her spare time and also start reading the novel itself in the meanwhile. Instead of spoon-feeding her to memorise 10 vocabulary every day, I provided a way for her to learn independently and sustainably in the long term. <<<Business Studies>>> On the other hand, I provided some intensive tutoring for an A-Level tutee on Business Studies- 5 lessons a week, 2 hours each. I targeted the potential areas that may come up in the exams and boosted my tutees confidence when practising past exam papers. He achieved an A* for his overall grade after 4 weeks of intensive tutoring.
