Following recently finishing a master's in chemical engineering at Imperial College London, I'm starting a PhD at the university of Sheffield. I've been teaching swimming for the past 8 years, and I have decided that I want to use the valuable skills I gained through this to tutor students in any of the subjects that I took not so long ago. I have been a volunteer tutor at Lambeth Academy teaching A Level physics for over a year, putting these skills into practice. I feel the key to doing well in any subject is finding what about it interests you, so that you are actually engaged with the material, rather than just learning it for an exam. I hope that I'm able to pass on my enthusiasm for the subjects, making lessons more enjoyable and more rewarding for everyone.

I have been teaching swimming for the past 6 years for Wave Leisure Trust, teaching a wide range of ages and abilities for up to 4 hours a week. I am currently a volunteer tutor at Lambeth Academy teaching A level physics to year 12 and 13 students for three hours a week. I have loved relearning the material that I covered 3-4 years ago and it's great to see that my enthusiasm is reciprocated among my students.
