Hi, my name's Isra and I teach studies up to university level. I'm currently a medical student, and in my spare time keep active by practicing taekwondo, competing nationally and internationally. Sessions are tailored to the students needs. I like to build a good rapport with my students and ensure they come to grips with content before applying this to exam questions to test their understanding and areas of further improvement and areas of expertise. I teach GCSEs in most subjects, and obtained 14A*-A grades, and A levels in biology, chemistry, maths and geography. I have first hand knowledge of university entrance exams, especially the UKCAT and BMAT exams for medical students, and writing personal statements, all of which I also tutor.
In the past, i have worked in a primary school teaching children who struggled with reading. I learnt that praising good behaviour, and recognising progress made encouraged the students to be more willing to learn and more motivated to keep improving. I have also informally tutored my younger brother his GCSEs, as we did some similar subjects. He then went on to achieve a number of A* and A grades, as well as a 9 in the new maths GCSE specification.
