History of Art tutor and consultant, London based.

Hello I’m Isabelle. Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of St Andrews. As a committed scholar, I most enjoy sharing my love for visual culture with other enthusiastic Art Historians. I completed my BA at the University of St Andrews, where I achieved a first-class degree. I then went on to do an MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art. I offer the following services: • GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate and post-graduate level Art History tutoring • Visual analysis skillset training • Preparing a competitive UCAS application, including personal statement writing and interview training for institutions like the Courtauld Institute of Art and Oxbridge • Dissertation consulting at undergraduate and post-graduate level, including archive training • Internship opportunity advice, facilitating contact with the following institutions: Rosebery’s Auctioneers, Bonhams and ARCADE Contemporary Art

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored for three years working with education concierge Allen & Jain, specialising in GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate and post-graduate level Art History tutoring. I have a vast knowledge of both Western and Non-Western art histories, covering a period from 1280 – present day. I combine a comprehensive chronological approach to the subject with extensive visual analysis training as well as theoretical, historical and conceptual frameworks that enable students to develop and harness a critical eye, essential for the discipline. Believing that the gallery, museum or archive is the best environment for an Art Historian to learn, I often take my students to galleries around London to study in front of the works of art themselves in order to consider not only the important visual aspects of the work, but to further acknowledge their historical and present-day social contexts. Through this, my students are able to develop and foster a life-long interest in the arts.
