I completely understand and appreciate people’s differences and have a vast awareness and first-hand experience of overcoming diversity. I left employment at 25, set up an enterprise and studied fashion at college. Embracing a dyslexia diagnosis at 30 I learned strategies to maximise its potential and found success in academia. My determination can inspire learners to find strategies to overcome any barriers to learning. I’m passionate about learning and strive to instil this in others. My tutor sessions will explore the learner’s objectives and establish weaknesses, growth and expectations. Progress is measured by effort first, then outcome; without effort there is no real outcome.

I currently teach enterprise, employability and research projects at college, though my experience spans over 16 years and taught a diverse range of business related subjects at secondary, college and university. My experience involves lecturing to large groups, but also one-to-one tutoring and supervision. Before this role, I’ve 20 years industrial experience, mainly manufacturing up to managerial level, and set up a fashion enterprise. As a lecturer, connecting with most learners comes naturally and thus, establishing a good rapport is possible. I pride myself on my professionalism and natural adaptability to different learning styles. My teaching style is tailored to accommodate learners’ preferred style of learning so that the best outcome is achieved with the sole focus aimed at maximising the learners’ learning experience.
