“Being a student is easy. Learning requires actual work.” (William Crawford). As a student and a Success Mentor at London Met, I am well aware of the 'actual work' required to excel in your studies. So, I will help you find practical solutions to overcome academic challenges (e.g. time management, writing, revision etc.) and suggest resources that work for your learning style. My areas of expertise are business and entrepreneurship. Both of which I have 10+ years of experience in through work and running my enterprises. Thus I am familiar with the fundamental principles of business management, the analytical frameworks (e.g. POLC, SWOT, PESTLE, 4/7 Ps, etc.) and how to utilise them to demonstrate your understanding as per the learning outcomes of your course.

As a Success Mentor at London Met, I have worked with a wide range of students with varying learning abilities, language proficiency and backgrounds. Through this work I realised that being a successful student is not about being 'smart' or 'intelligent' it is about understanding your learning style, utilising resources that work for you and planning and managing your time efficiently. Most teachers, however, do not have the time or resources to adapt their teaching methods to suit the individual needs of each student, thus students who don’t 'get it' immediately often end up with lower grades or fail. As I can work with the students on a one-to-one basis, I can learn why they don't understand the material and then equip them with the tools and resources they need to achieve their academic objectives.
