Hi, I'm Ben! I passed my CELTA in 2019 (Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Since then, I've taught at International House and Oxford Intensive School of English, and tutored 1:1 conversation classes. I'm looking forward to taking on some new students. I will assess your needs and prepare lessons to suit you, whatever language skills, vocabulary, or grammar you require. I should be particularly good at teaching English for academic purposes because I have a strong educational background: a first class degree in English language and literature from Oxford University, a masters in criticism and culture from Cambridge University, and a PhD in art history from the Open University. When I'm not tutoring, I also work as a copy-editor and proofreader - I often help writers for whom English is a foreign language. So I should teach writing especially well. In my free time, I enjoy cycling, walking, going to the cinema, and eating vegan food!
