I am a vocal student learning classical and operatic technique under Sophie Grimmer, a highly respected vocal teacher based at Trinity College of Music, with more than 20 years of teaching experience. The techniques I teach my own students are therefore informed by what I have learnt in my own lessons, but of course catered to the individual's needs and dependant on their current vocal ability. In lessons I address how to achieve healthy vocal production through technical exercises and suggest/teach songs appropriate to the student's standard. I have studied drama, so can also tackle how to affectively act through song and deal with performance anxiety. Even though I am specialising in classical voice, I can cater for the individual. If students want to learn pop songs or musical theatre this is something I can facilitate, as I believe the key to successful singing of any genre is to be taught a solid vocal technique.

I studied voice and academic music at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, before moving to London to continue studying at Trinity College of Music. I began singing and performing when I was 9 years old, finding such joy in music, which I want to share with all my students. I am currently studying for a Bachelors with Honours degree in vocal performance at Trinity College of Music and have an ATCL vocal performance diploma and all previous ABRSM grades: 1-8. I have worked in schools with young students and teenagers, and especially love working with kids, for which I have an approved DBS check. I understand the importance of encouraging and nurturing my young students/ first time singers, starting at the very basics of technique and breathing to help them develop an enthusiasm for singing!
