My son is 9 and we’re working towards his 11+ exams. He’s flying at maths, his verbal reasoning is progressing steadily but his reading comprehension is a stumbling block. I’m educated and know how he should be doing it but we’re battling, I’m not a teacher and on this subject I’m failing to help him. He finds it so so hard. We’ve been doing 2 a week since Jan, he stills hates them, he hates me when I help him so I’m doing something wrong. Do you think you can help? I’d rather face to face but I’m not sure that’s an option with the current situation. The school we are trying for is Dame Ellis Owen in potters bar and we are in London, N11. His sister is at school mom-fri 9.40 to 2.40 so I guess 10am to 2pm would be preferable. Many thanks, Kellie Waugh
